The Okavango River Basin Transfrontier Ecology Program

NG 16 Selinda Region

The Selinda region is an expansive area which is part of Great Plains Conservation’s concessions in Botswana. It is adjacent to and directly to the south of NG 14 (Kwando) and thus has very similar habitat. This region will be exclusively looked at for disease and genetic evaluation. We also will be adding the cheetah to the animals evaluated as they are more plentiful in this area.

We have not traveled into this area for research purposes but have traversed it many times on the way from Maun to Little Lagoon Base Camp.
